My name is Leigh Ann Nicolella, and I will be teaching your child Biology and IB Biology for the 2017-2018 school year. This is my seventh year teaching, and I am truly excited about working with each of these young, inquiring minds in both of my classes. My goal is to make each of them a "little" scientist in their own right. I am an alumnus of West Hall High School and am amazed at how much things have changed since I was a student here.
I am a Hall County native. Upon completion of high school, I attended Gainesville State College (now the University of North Georgia) and received an Associates of Science degree in Biological Sciences. After graduating Gainesville State College in 1999, I attended North Georgia College and State University to complete my Bachelors of Science degree in Biological Sciences. Following college, I worked at Fieldale Farms from 2001 until 2011 as a Microbiology Laboratory Technician. During this time, I decided I wanted to go back to school and pursue a degree in Education. I have always considered myself a life long learner and enjoy helping others learn. In 2009, I graduated from Brenau University receiving a Masters of Arts in Teaching - Secondary Education. Currently, I am pursuing an Ed.S. in Curriculum and Instruction in Science Education from the University of Alabama with anticipated graduation date of May 2018.
I have been married for 13 years and have one two dogs, Baxter and Bo. My husband and I live in Oakwood, Georgia.
